Buy, sell and
trade organic
produce locally.
Project Overview
Seed Share is an online platform that connects members of the community with a way to source trusted locally grown organic produce and provide growers the ability to sell or trade their excess produce.
The Problem
Health & eco focused users struggle to source organic fresh produce that is fresh, local and pesticide free. Sustainable choices that benefit the users health, the environment and community are hard to find.
Project Objectives
// Understand the process people go through in acquiring fresh produce?

// Discover how people feel about sourcing produce from varied places?

// Assess the tools and logistics people use to share their produce.
User Persona
Charlie, Home grower

Charlie, 32 is interested in horticulture and has a small veggie garden, her goals are to eat organic, local and pesticide free. Charlie is often disappointed with supermarket bought organic produce, because it's old and comes from interstate. Charlie wants to connect with other home growers to buy, sell and trade excess produce.
Competitor Analysis
Problem Statement
From our user research we have discovered two strong insights, firstly that people want to be connected to the fresh produce they eat - they want to know where it comes from, who grew it and that it’s newly harvested, local and pesticide free. Food waste is also a major concern and many home growers have an abundance of excess produce and are eager to mitigate this issue.

How might we connect members of the community with a way to source trusted locally grown organic produce and provide growers the ability to sell or trade their excess produce.

Final Thoughts
As Seed Share grows and develops a community of growers we would endeavour to partner with local charities and food banks. Growers would have the opportunity to donate their produce if it was not sold, traded or given away within a certain amount of time.

We’d also like to progress the Forum feature allowing users to interact and share knowledge on garden and exchange recipes. This feature would enhance the community aspect of the app and invite further engagement.
